New Cagliari Stadium

New Cagliari Stadium

Cagliari Calcio presented the Definitive Project for the new stadium to the Municipality of Cagliari, which will be built next to the Unipol Domus, in place of the Sant’Elia. It's a crucial step in the process of building an innovative and multi-purpose facility, both for sport and for events and the daily life of the community.

The Club warmly thanks the Gruppo COSTIM, industrial partner of the project, David Manica and Sportium for having taken care of the design, as well as Monitor Deloitte and Chiomenti, respectively financial advisor on the economic aspects of the plan and law firm who has dealt with every legal aspect of the initiative. The economic-financial plan supporting the project, aimed at ensuring its balance, was certified by Unicredit.

Within the next six months is expected there will be the arrival of the Definitive Project in a Municipal Decision-making Services Conference, aimed at obtaining the declaration of public utility of the opera. Then the public tender procedure and an international tender lasting a maximum of ninety days aimed at being able to start work and assign the fifty-year concession on management. Once the demolitions of the Sant’Elia have started and finished, the time schedule includes a construction period of about 25 months, until the inauguration of the new stadium.

"We live in particular historical moment - Tommaso Giulini's words - in which the international economy suffers the increase in the cost of raw materials, transport, energy and the influence of an ongoing war conflict. Thanks to a fruitful dialogue with the institutions and our partners we were able to work hard to arrive at the presentation of the Definitive Project, a step that we strongly wanted. This is a crucial page of our journey, for Cagliari and for Sardinia as a whole, to which we want to give something unique and strongly anchored to the territory, contributing to the sustainable growth of the city in a social and economic way".
