đź“Š - MATCH PREVIEW

A hard away match for Cagliari at Hellas Verona. Bentegodi is a minefield: since September the GialloblĂą are one of the three European teams, along with Borussia Dortmund and Paris St. Germain, to have won all the matches on their own field. Five out of five for Hellas, which recovered from the arrival of Igor Tudor on the bench. The Croatian coach has returned the identity of a carefree, fresh, fast team. The farewell of a key element like Zaccagni was well absorbed by a group renewed in men but unchanged in the game concepts. Cagliari, however, need points and must make up for it after the cruel mockery they suffered last Friday against Salernitana: woe to focus attention on the opponent's name.

THE KEY
Tudor proposes a 3-4-1-2 that gives few points of reference, with the two strikers Simeone and Caprari to exchange positions repeatedly. The play Veloso is the obligatory passage for the Veronese games, therefore to be marked on sight; beware of the runs of Faraoni. Cagliari could try to squeeze in centrally, taking advantage of Keita and Joao Pedro's speed: Verona’s central defenders got a great sense of position and are physically structured, but they could suffer from speed.

NEWS FROM CAGLIARI
Diego Godin is still out, as he’s been against Salernitana, and Alessio Cragno is also absent, on leave for family reasons. There will not even be Paolo Faragò. First call for Andrea D’Aniello, goalkeeper of the Primavera team.

THE OPPONENT
Frabotta, Kalinic and Hongla are not available for Tudor.

THE REFEREE
Matteo Marcenaro from Genova has his debut in Serie A.

Linesmen Ciro Carbone from Napoli and Robert Avalos from Legnano.

Fourth official Davide Massa from Imperia.

VAR Massimiliano Irrati from Pistoia and Daniele Bindoni from Venezia.

THE NUMBERS

32 matches in Serie A between Hellas and Cagliari: 13 GialloblĂą victories, 10 those of Cagliari, 9 draws. The RossoblĂą have only won once in Verona (0-2, in January 1972).

The first of three goals scored by Razvan Marin in Serie A (and the only one he scored away) came at Bentegodi against Verona in December 2020. Luca Ceppitelli's first goal in Serie A against Verona also (November 2017).

Marin and Joao Pedro are the only two players to have been lined up in all 14 games so far in this league.

THE MANAGERS
Only one direct confrontation on the bench between Walter Mazzarri and Igor Tudor: the Cagliari coach won.
