New deal of Cagliari with the head coach Walter Mazzarri begins well. The Rossoblù achieved a good tie, 2-2, at Olimpico against Lazio. And it could have been better for Cagliari, as Lazio equalized with seven minutes to go.
The team fully deserved to get this point. Lazio scored courtesy of Immobile at the end of the first half, with a header: the striker of Italy confirms to be the black sheep of Cagliari, he scored 11 goals to the Rossoblù all through his career.
But Cagliari had played well until that moment, creating some good chances to score. After only 25 seconds of second half, Joao Pedro equalized: a fine lob-header, on a sublime assist courtesy of Marin. Still Joao Pedro invented second goal, running fast on the left flank and resisting to Felipe Luiz: his pass to Keita was precise, the former Lazio striker controlled and shot in the corner of the net.
Lazio furiously attacked and scored the 2-2 goal, courtesy of a tremendous shoot by Cataldi.
Yet Cagliari played a great game. The 4-4-2 system worked well. A good start, now on Wednesday Cagliari will host Empoli.
