Cagliari Calcio is pleased to announce the purchase of the right to sports performances of Raoul Bellanova who arrives in the Rossoblu from Bordeaux on loan with the option for a permanent transfer.
Born in Rho on May 17, 2000, he grew up in the Milan Youth Academy. In the summer of 2019 he was signed by Bordeaux with whom he made his Ligue 1 debut at the age of 19.
In January 2020 he moved on loan to Atalanta: his debut with the Bergamo side was dated July 14, in the 6-2 against Brescia. Last season he played in the ranks of Pescara, totaling 31 appearances between the League and the Italian Cup.
Strong point of the Azzurri Youth national teams - from U15 to U21 he has so far collected 74 caps - in 2018 he took part in the U19 European Championships, which ended with a second place; the following year he finished fourth with at the World Cup Under 20. Last season he played the Under 21 European Championships in Hungary and Slovenia.
He is a right back with remarkable athletic qualities, has a great ability to run and speed. Tactically disciplined, timely in advance, he is good at controlling the ball even in tight spaces: he prefers to use his right foot, he can easily reach the bottom to serve inviting crosses for the strikers to exploit. A mix of dynamism, pace, technique and versatility.
Welcome to Sardinia, Raoul!
