Cagliari Calcio is pleased to announce that the young Rossoblù players Gianluca Contini, Francesco Cusumano and Christos Kourfalidis have signed their first professional contract with the Club.
Gianluca Contini, born in Tuscany in 2001, but of Sardinian origins, closed the 2020-21 Primavera 1 championship scoring 18 goals, a loot that earned him the title of top scorer of the tournament. He joined the Cagliari Academy in the summer of 2016, he is a fast and quick striker, who can move on the offensive front, cold as ice in front of goal. In three seasons in the Primavera he played 82 games and scored 30 goals. He signed until 30 June 2023. He will play on loan next season in the ranks of Legnago.
Francesco Cusumano, born in Palermo (2001), is a physical defender, good at tackling and in the air, with good skills in making play. He arrived in the youth sector in the summer of 2016, then strengthened by his experience in the first team in Olbia (2018-19 season) and continued his growth path in the Cagliari Primavera (41 matches). He signed with the Club until 30 June 2022, with an option for the next two sporting seasons: at the same time he transferred on loan to Vis Pesaro until the end of the season.
Christos Kourfalidis, born in Thessaloniki, born in 2002, is a footballer capable of combining physical strength and quality, a tireless midfield motor. After playing in Cagliari's Under 17 team in the 2018-19 season, he moved on loan to Serie D in Foggia where he made 24 appearances. Back at the base, he was among the architects of the permanence obtained by the Primavera with three games in advance. Now the signing of his first professional contract: he will be rossoblù until 30 June 2023.
